How GPA Works in SRM IST

GPA (Grade Point Average) is the standard measure of academic performance. Understanding how it is calculated helps you plan your studies and predict your performance.

GPA is a numerical value that represents your average academic performance across all subjects in a single semester. In SRM IST, GPA is measured on a 10-point scale, where 10 is the highest achievable score (O grade) and 0 represents a fail.

The GPA Formula

GPA = Sum(Grade Points x Credit Hours) / Total Credit Hours

This formula calculates a weighted average of your grade points, where subjects with more credit hours have a proportionally larger influence on your final GPA.
